Accounts Payable Supervisor (Remote contract - Preference for candidates located in the Brentwood/Nashville, TN area)

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the full procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle and support ongoing process improvement initiatives within a growing organization. This position offers the opportunity to lead day-to-day AP operations, supervise workflow efficiency, and play a key role in a future transition from Cerner to Coupa.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounts payable leadership, experience managing invoice processing at moderate volume, and the ability to balance daily execution with process optimization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee the end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) process

+ Manage daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, approvals, and payment execution

+ MUST be comfortable presenting financial information to upper management

+ Monitor workflow for approximately 400-600 invoices per month

+ Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments and issue resolution

+ Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies

+ Partner with operational and finance teams to improve AP processes and efficiencies

+ Support reporting, audit requests, and month-end close activities related to accounts payable

+ Assist with system and process enhancements, including future P2P platform initiatives

+ Serve as a key resource for vendor relations and escalated payment inquiries

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred

+ 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience

+ Hands-on experience with Cerner financial modules

+ Prior supervisory or team lead experience within accounts payable

+ Strong knowledge of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes and AP best practices

+ Experience managing invoice volumes in a multi-entity or complex environment

+ Great Excel skills and strong analytical abilities

+ Excellent communication and organizational skills

+ Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with in healthcare or healthcare services environments

+ Exposure to Coupa or other eProcurement/P2P platforms

+ Experience participating in system migrations, process redesign, or AP transformation initiatives
