Job DutiesReporting to the Divisional Finance Officer for the College of Health Professions and Sciences, this position provides broad division-level financial support focusing on budget development, management and reporting, accounts payable and receivable management, post award research support and reporting, and fund management. This position processes, reviews, and approves, and advises on a variety of complex financial transactions according to university and state policies and procedures.
Maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for faculty and staff to support divisional financial management. Recommends controls and process improvements and troubleshoots complex financial errors.
Work will be performed primarily on the UW‑Milwaukee campus. Hybrid work options may be considered with requests for remote work considered after the initial training period.
Key Job Responsibilities- Develops and maintains automated financial systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity
- Prepares and analyzes financial data, reports and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, recommends, and implements solutions as needed
- Organizes, prepares, and updates financial statements, monthly and year‑end journal entries, accounts, ledgers, and reports for various financial needs within an automated financial system to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions
- Prepares and/or approves financial transactions and payments
- Provides and prepares budgets and projections based on existing data and established policies and procedures
- Answers questions and provides accounting related information to internal and external stakeholders according to established policies and procedures
- Assists with accounting and reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and reports

CompensationThe target hiring range for this position is expected to be $61,200-$73,000. The final offer will be contingent upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or Bachelor’s Degreewithdemonstratedwork experience in Accounting and Financial Analysis.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and budgeting.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Professional and effective written and oral communication skillsasdemonstratedin application materials.
- Advanced degree in business, finance, or related field
- Proficiencywithfinancial software and systems (specifically Excel, Workday)
- Demonstratedfinancial and analytical work experience.
- Related experience with UW System or other complex work environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or Bachelor’s Degree with demonstratedwork experience in Accounting and Financial Analysis.
