THE POSITION

If so, PennDOT has a unique opportunity for you in the Bureau of Fiscal Management's Audit Division! PennDOT is looking for someone who can independently perform a broad scope of assignments and supervise multiple teams of professional audit personnel who conduct audits and other related engagements and activities.
DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position leads audit teams and oversees a wide range of audit activities that ensure compliance with financial, operational, and regulatory requirements across the Department. The work supports strong oversight, accurate reporting, and effective use of public resources. As an Audit Specialist 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Audit Oversight:
Direct audit teams and review work to ensure compliance with established standards and objectives - Plan Monitoring:
Track progress of audit plans and make adjustments to keep projects on schedule - Review Management:
Ensure desk reviews and related analyses meet performance requirements and support audit goals - System Coordination:
Manage audit system access and support technology needs for audit activities - Staff Development:
Provide mentoring and guidance to strengthen auditing, research, testing, and reporting skills - Communication Duties:
Maintain regular communication with managers and auditees to address progress and significant issues

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:0 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- The position will be headquartered in a district or county office closest to the selected candidate's home that meets needs and has available space.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- One year as an Audit Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing.
