Bookkeeping Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our team as a full-time Team Lead. This position may be hybrid or in-office, depending on employee preference. We're looking for someone who combines strong accounting skills with leadership, initiative, and an exceptional work ethic. Our best Team Leads enjoy being productive, take pride in doing excellent work, and genuinely care about the success of their clients and teammates.

Team Leads are responsible for the overall performance of a small team, generally consisting of three to four accounting associates. They manage workflow and deadlines, review work, answer questions, solve problems, mentor team members, and serve as a key point of communication between the team, our clients, and P&A management. This is a hands‑on leadership role. Team Leads need the accounting knowledge and experience to recognize issues, provide guidance, and step in when necessary.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing team workflow, priorities, and deadlines
• Ensuring client work is accurate and completed on time
• Reviewing work and troubleshooting accounting issues
• Performing all bookkeeping related functions
• Coaching and supporting accounting associates
• Communicating directly with clients and their advisors
• Taking ownership of problems and seeing them through to resolution
• Maintaining high standards for client service, productivity, and quality

Successful Team Leads are dependable, resourceful, and motivated. They enjoy working hard and accomplishing a lot while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

They take ownership of their responsibilities, follow through without needing reminders, and look for solutions when challenges arise. They can manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment and are willing to jump in when their team needs them.

Just as importantly, they lead with integrity, communicate well, and care about helping the people around them succeed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable education and training
• Five or more years of practical bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Previous management or team leadership experience
• Strong Excel and Quick Books proficiency
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, sales and use tax, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation
• Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
• Experience with other general ledger software is a plus.
