Compensation: $45,000–$50,000 annually, based on experience, plus health insurance, dental insurance, church retirement contributions, paid time off (PTO), and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness for qualified student loans.

Position Summary

First Baptist Church at The Villages (FBCATV) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Finance & Operations Coordinator to steward the church's financial administration and provide administrative and operational support to its ministries. This position is responsible for the church's day-to-day bookkeeping and financial processes while also supporting payroll, benefits, insurance, vendors, organizational projects, and other business operations.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a servant-hearted professional who enjoys working with numbers, is highly organized, values accuracy, communicates well with people, and sees administration as an important ministry. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing financial records, processing contributions, reconciling accounts, assisting staff members, coordinating vendors, and helping organizational projects move forward. This individual should be proactive, dependable, and committed to continuous improvement.

Above all, this person understands that excellent administration supports effective ministry and advances the mission of the church.

Primary Responsibilities Financial Administration – approximately 50%
  • Maintain accounting records using Quick Books, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process contributions, deposits, and donor records; reconcile online giving and bank accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and year-end contribution statements.
Administrative Services - approximately 15%
  • Process payroll and administer employee benefits.
  • Coordinate insurance policies, purchasing, contracts, and vendor payments.
  • Assist with Wednesday night meal operations and payment collections (September through April).
Operations Support – approximately 25%
  • Support the Pastor of Discipleship & Administration with church operations.
  • Assist with insurance, risk management, operational research, vendor coordination, and reporting.
Project Management – approximately 10%
  • Track organizational projects, strategic initiatives, deadlines, and action items.
  • Support project management systems and implementation of leadership priorities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
  • Proficiency with Quick Books.
  • Bookkeeping/accounting experience, including general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Three or more years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Nonprofit and/or fund accounting experience.
  • Church bookkeeping or financial administration experience.
  • Experience with donor contribution management and charitable receipting.
  • Experience with Realm or another church management system, ADP, Guide Stone, and/or
