Location: Remote/ Work from Office

Shift: US Shift 07:30pm ton 04:30am

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Team Lead with strong hands-on knowledge of Sage Intacct to lead a team of approximately 5 accounting professionals. This is a client-facing leadership position requiring strong accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, professional presence, and the ability to manage both internal teams and client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a background similar to an MBA in Finance + CPA/CA, with experience handling accounting operations and leading teams in a client-facing environment.

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of approximately 10 accounting professionals.
• Allocate work, monitor deliverables, and ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify skill gaps and support team training and development.
• Ensure adherence to internal accounting processes, SOPs, and quality standards.

2. Accounting & Financial Operations

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review financial transactions, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end activities.
• Review and validate financial reports before submission to clients.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain high standards of accounting accuracy and compliance.

3. Sage Intacct

• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Sage Intacct.
• Manage and review accounting activities performed through Sage Intacct.
• Support the team in resolving system/process-related accounting issues.
• Ensure appropriate use of Sage Intacct modules and accounting workflows.
• Assist in improving accounting processes and reporting through effective use of the platform.

4. Client Management

• Act as a key point of contact for international clients.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting activities, reports, queries, and deliverables.
• Understand client requirements and translate them into clear instructions for the accounting team.
• Handle client escalations professionally and ensure timely resolution.
• Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships.

5. Quality & Process Improvement

• Establish and maintain quality-control checks for accounting deliverables.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Ensure accounting work is completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Develop and improve SOPs, checklists, and review mechanisms where required.
• Monitor team productivity, turnaround time, and quality metrics.

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• CPA or CA qualification preferred.
• MBA in Finance or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with team-handling exposure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sage Intacct.
• Prior experience managing or supervising an accounting team is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with US/international clients will be an advantage.

• Technically strong in accounting and comfortable reviewing the work of others.
• Experienced in Sage Intacct and able to guide a team on the platform.
• Confident managing a team of around 5 members.
• Comfortable communicating directly with international clients.
• Highly articulate and professional in both written and verbal communication.
• Capable of taking ownership of accounting operations rather than only executing individual tasks.
• Ideally a CPA/CA with an MBA/Finance background or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
