Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a finance team in Charlotte, North Carolina in a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing payment operations, maintaining accurate vendor records, and using systems and spreadsheets to keep accounts payable activities organized. The position offers a hybrid schedule with four days onsite and remote work on Fridays, while providing the chance to contribute to ongoing process optimization and project-based initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities, including invoice handling, payment processing, wire transactions, and ACH disbursements with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain and update vendor information in financial systems, ensuring records are complete, compliant, and current.
• Reconcile accounts payable balances and research discrepancies to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Use Net Suite and related tools to support payment workflows, transaction tracking, and vendor account administration.
• Analyze accounts payable data in Microsoft Excel using functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP to identify trends, validate details, and support reporting needs.
• Contribute to documentation updates, workflow refinements, and other efforts designed to improve efficiency across the accounts payable function.
• Support special projects tied to system enhancements, data conversion activities, and broader accounts payable initiatives.
• Coordinate check runs and other scheduled payment cycles while ensuring internal procedures and deadlines are followed.
