Financial Reporting Accountant
The OpportunityThe purpose of this role is to support accounting and financial reporting activities by ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, maintaining compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives. This role contributes to financial operations through transaction processing, reporting, analysis, budgeting support, and continuous process improvement.

The salary rangefor this role is between $60,000-$90,000
Your New Role- Support accounting and reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records in compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
- Review and process financial transactions, invoices, and payment requests while resolving associated inquiries.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities to support business decision-making.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets business needs and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal financial control requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support special projects, investigations, and accounting-related business initiatives as required.
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities to develop best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced colleagues to support capability development across the team.
- Assist in credit control activities and support the effective management of financial obligations.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in an accounting, finance, or related business function.
- Current or pending professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Experience working within a complex financial services organization.
- Experience in general accounting, accounts payable, or financial reporting functions.
- Experience utilizing Oracle Financials or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Experience with treasury, settlements, or cash management activities.
- Audit experience, preferably within a public accounting or Big Four environment.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Strong data management, data entry, and financial analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting the development of colleagues.

The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role’s complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
