Your Day-to-Day and Long-Term GoalsIn this role, you will own the day-to-day transactional bookkeeping. Your work will directly impact our business health and our ability to make informed decisions.
On a weekly basis, you will:
- Record and categorize all daily bank and credit card transactions in Quick Books Online.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process accounts payable, ensuring vendors and subcontractors are paid accurately and on time.
- Monitor accounts receivable, sending invoice reminders and tracking customer payments.
- Maintain organized digital files of receipts, invoices, and financial documents.
Over time, success looks like:
- Maintaining a highly organized, error-free Quick Books ledger that is always ready for monthly close.
- Providing clear, reliable financial reports to the business owner at the end of each month.
- Establishing efficient tracking processes that streamline our billing and expense management.
- Quick Books Online Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience navigating and managing transactions specifically within Quick Books Online.
- Bookkeeping Fundamentals: A solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Attention to Detail: A natural ability to spot discrepancies, correct errors, and ensure data integrity.
- Self-Management: The ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and meet weekly deadlines without constant supervision.
- Trustworthiness: High professional standards when handling sensitive financial data and business information.
- Active Quick Books Online Certification.
- Prior bookkeeping experience in the residential construction, home services, or trade industries.
- Familiarity with job-costing or scheduling software that integrates with Quick Books.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10 to 15 hours per week. We offer flexibility on which days and hours you work, provided the weekly tasks and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule. The role is based out of our Casper office, with the potential for hybrid work flexibility once you are fully trained and established in the role.
