Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert in accounts payable operations, offering guidance and support to internal stakeholders and vendors. You will be responsible for maintaining and managing the AP inbox, addressing vendor inquiries promptly and professionally. Your role will involve researching, reviewing, and reconciling vendor statements, providing payment status updates, and resolving any discrepancies.
You will build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal teams. Additionally, you will support month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable, assist with tracking and communicating key AP metrics, and ensure accurate sales and use tax processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in accounts payable operations.
- Maintain and manage the AP inbox, responding to vendor inquiries.
- Research, review, and reconcile vendor statements.
- Provide payment status updates and resolve discrepancies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal teams.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable.
- Assist with tracking and communicating key AP metrics and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Understand sales and use tax processes related to accounts payable.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary financial information.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reports, and audit files.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and help resolve day-to-day system or workflow issues within AP.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior AP staff and provide informal guidance.
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
- Strong skills in vendor management and statement audits.
- Proficiency in 1099s and invoice processing.
- 1+ year of experience with Excel, specifically pivot tables and formulas.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly and possess a can-do attitude.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.60/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
