The Role
PDQ's Corporate Accounting team owns the numbers behind the business: the monthly close, payroll and tax compliance, and the technical accounting that keeps PDQ audit-ready. As a Staff Accountant on this team, you'll support close, reconciliations, and payroll processing while getting exposure to sales and income tax, revenue, and equity compensation accounting. You'll report within Corporate Accounting and work directly with the Controller's team to keep PDQ's books accurate and ready for our auditors and PE sponsors.
WhyThe Role Matters
In this role, you'll help keep PDQ's financial close accurate and on time, directly supporting the reporting our leadership, auditors, and board rely on.
How You Might Spend Your Day- Prepare and review month-end close deliverables, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and Floqast checklist items
- Support multi-entity payroll processing: PTO reporting, payroll tax, benefits reconciliation, and equity/ETU agreements
- Own sales tax compliance in Avalara and Taxually, and support income tax, transfer pricing, and VAT filings
- Build budget-vs-actual and flux analyses that help finance leadership understand the story behind the numbers
- Maintain the chart of accounts and support Net Suite administration as PDQ's ERP system of record
- Support revenue and deal desk processes, including multi-year deal reviews and commission calculations
- Contribute to technical accounting projects covering equity compensation, capitalized software, goodwill impairment, and R&D credit
- Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Payroll, and the Controller's team
- Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and strategic goals
- Support continuous improvement through feedback, learning, and innovation
- 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, public accounting or corporate accounting background preferred
- Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and the month-end close process
- Experience with ERP systems, Net Suite preferred, and account reconciliation tools
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with high volumes of transactional data
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA license or actively pursuing one
- Experience with multi-entity or international consolidations
- Exposure to equity compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), or purchase accounting (ASC 805)
- Experience with Floqast, Avalara, or similar close and tax automation tools
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
