Job SummaryThe Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and review various federal and multi-state tax returns, assist with tax projections and planning, handle tax notices and correspondence, communicate directly with clients, and collaborate with firm partners on complex tax matters. The role requires strong technical tax expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while delivering high-quality client service.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review individual, corporate, S corporation, partnership, trust, nonprofit, and estate tax returns.
- Assist with tax projections, tax planning, and strategic tax-saving opportunities.
- Respond to notices and correspondence from the IRS, FTB, EDD, and CDTFA.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, planning opportunities, and information requests.
- Collaborate closely with partners on tax planning and consulting engagements.
- Review financial statements, general ledgers, and accounting records for accuracy and tax reporting purposes.
- Research federal and multi-state tax issues as needed.
- Support high-quality client service and timely, accurate work.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a professional environment.
- Maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate professionalism, initiative, integrity, and continued learning.
- Candidates must have at least five years of tax accounting experience in a professional CPA firm environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional tax accounting and tax preparation experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a professional environment.
- Proficiency with Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Microsoft 365.
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess.
- Tax accounting: 5 years (Required).
