Accounting Clerk

The Tone:

This is a full-time role at McAngus Goudelock & Courie, with a hybrid work arrangement based in Columbia, SC, and remote eligibility after an initial in-office training period for candidates in NC or SC. MGC is an established civil litigation firm celebrating over three decades of success with offices across 12 states. This position is key to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the firm’s operations by managing essential accounting and bookkeeping tasks within the finance team.

  Ensure precise financial operations by managing essential accounting and bookkeeping functions for the firm.
• Tech Stack:
  Microsoft Office suite, accounting software

• Accounting Support:
  Handle accounting and bookkeeping duties, including banking, general ledger bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and analysis.
• Problem Resolution:
  Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
• Transaction Approval:
  Approve ACH and Positive Pay Exceptions.
• Account Reconciliation:
  Reconcile bank accounts accurately.

• Background:
  High school diploma required. Associates Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
  
  1-2 years of experience in business or accounting.
• Skills:
  
  Basic understanding of Bank Reconciliations, Debits and Credits; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; strong knowledge of accounting software and bookkeeping principles.
• Bonus:
  Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Candidates based in North or South Carolina are preferred for the remote work arrangement.
