Role DescriptionThe Accounting Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Washington, DC, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role oversees client accounting services for small businesses and non-profit entities. Day-to-day responsibilities include reconciling bank/credit card/investment accounts, monthly adjusting entries, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will collaborate directly with clients to address questions, develop and document accounting processes and procedures, and deliver clear recommendations.
The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP, improving internal processes, and supporting the firm’s commitment to high-quality, service-oriented client care.
- Strong knowledge in US GAAP and Accounting Principles, including tax related matters.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and related accounting reports.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or eligibility strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a focus on client accounting services. Tax preparation experience is a plus.
- Experience using Quick Books, Quick Books Online and Sage Intacct and strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and ability to interpret changes in tax law.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex accounting matters to clients.
Our salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, knowledge, and skills.
- Pay range - $95,000 - $125,000 per year
- Annual bonus commensurate with firm performance
