ANSEP is seeking a part-time Fiscal & Administrative Support candidate to work directly with the ANSEP leadership team and support the Finance, Grants, Human Resources, and administrative functions of the organization. This position will provide hands‑on experience with financial and administrative processes, including accounts payable and receivable, grant budget tracking, purchasing, travel, asset management, and records management. The position will also support ANSEP events and assist with a variety of HR and administrative activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in business, accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field to gain practical experience in a dynamic organization while developing skills in financial management, organizational operations, and professional communication.
The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with numbers and financial information. They will be self‑motivated and able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records with appropriate attention to detail. An interest in accounting, finance, business, or organizational operations is helpful, as is some experience with budgets, spreadsheets, financial systems, or inventory management. The ability to learn new systems and processes, ask questions when needed, and follow established policies and procedures is essential.
Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with ANSEP staff, students, vendors, and University partners will help the individual thrive in this role.
One year of college coursework in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. Knowledge of basic accounting and administrative practices, including accounts payable and receivable, budget review, travel processing, and recordkeeping. Familiarity with automated accounting or financial systems and electronic spreadsheets. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records, conduct basic research, and work with databases and financial information. Ability to understand and follow fiscal, purchasing, travel, and other applicable University policies, rules, and procedures.
Knowledge of grant processes, grant account reconciliation, and various funding sources is preferred.
This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a part‑time, non‑exempt temporary staff position
New hires will be placed on theUA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
