A growing company in the northwest suburbs is looking for an Accounting & HR Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position supporting the Controller with a mix of accounting and light HR support. The role will start fully on-site during training, then offer the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
Responsibilities:- Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals and payments
- Support accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment application and collections
- Maintain vendor records and assist with 1099 preparation
- Assist the Controller with month-end close, reporting and other accounting projects
- Provide limited administrative HR support, including onboarding paperwork, PTO tracking and payroll data entry
- Help transition manual processes to more streamlined digital workflows
- Bachelor or Associates Degree is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a small, collaborative environment
- Ability to learn new accounting, payroll and HR systems
