Job DescriptionWe are looking for a hands-on Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting operations of a multi-entity professional services firm with operations across three continents. You will own the monthly close, financial reporting, and core accounting processes for our U.S. operations, while supporting global consolidation with our teams in India and Brazil.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys being close to the numbers, not just overseeing them, and who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment where initiative and ownership are valued.
Qualifications Top 5 Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages for the CEO
- Assist with development and monitoring of the annual budget and rolling forecasts
- Run project-based financial reports, including utilization, realization, and gross margin by project/client
- Analyze monthly operating costs and variances, flagging issues to the CEO
- Ensure timely and accurate U.S. federal and state tax filings, in coordination with outside tax advisors
- Oversee bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Ensure intercompany invoicing and transactions with India and Brazil operations are accurate and timely
- Support the annual audit for U.S. operations, coordinating Brazil/India requirements
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements
- Process and oversee U.S. multi-state payroll and benefits administration, ensuring payroll tax accuracy
- Support review of customer and vendor contracts (MSAs & SOWs) from a financial and risk perspective
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
- Support ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned by the CEO
- Lead and develop the accounting, finance, HR, recruiting, and IT teams. Manage and mentor a few small teams across the US, India, and Brazil. Build scalable processes and drive continuous improvement
