As the Audit Lead, you will act as the intermediary between the Partner, the client, and the professional team. Your responsibilities include overseeing multiple auditing and accounting projects, managing client engagements, organizing workflow, and fostering client relationships. Additionally, you will mentor staff, facilitate business growth, and nurture client connections.
Primary Duties Lead all phases of audit or review engagements across multiple projects simultaneously
Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their operations and maintain strong relationships
Keep the Partner informed of any significant updates on client accounts and provide solutions for potential issues
Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional standards
Schedule engagements effectively and adhere to firm's audit approach
Create, monitor, and follow budgeting for Assurance and Advisory projects
Identify and address potential problems and scope expansion opportunities
Review financial statements and other client deliverables
Supervise and review work done by senior and staff accountants
Contribute to staff evaluations and performance reviews
Participate in business development initiatives
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
At least five years of public accounting experience, with a focus on auditing state and local governments
Active CPA license
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong team leadership skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and GASB standards
Experience with GAGAS, GAAS, and Uniform Guidance audits
Responsive to feedback and supervision
Experience with audits of not-for-profit organizations is a plus Working Conditions Hybrid work setup with flexibility to work from home, office, or client sites as needed
Same-day travel to client locations, meetings, and seminars
Overnight travel for out-of-town client engagements, meetings, and seminars
Overtime work expected during peak periods from August to February
