Remote Forensic Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and discreet Remote Forensic Accountant to conduct investigations into financial irregularities and potential fraud. This critical role involves examining financial records, tracing assets, and providing expert analysis and testimony related to financial disputes and criminal activities. You will operate independently from your remote office, collaborating virtually with legal teams, investigators, and clients. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional investigative skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to meticulously analyze complex financial data to uncover truths in sensitive cases.

• Conduct detailed forensic accounting investigations into allegations of fraud, embezzlement, and financial misconduct.
• Analyze financial data, identify anomalies, and trace financial transactions to uncover illicit activities.
• Prepare comprehensive forensic accounting reports detailing findings, methodologies, and evidence.
• Assist legal counsel in case preparation, including providing expert witness testimony in legal proceedings.
• Quantify financial losses and damages resulting from fraudulent activities.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards throughout investigations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
  Master's degree or CPA/CA(SA) preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent forensic accounting certification.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or investigative roles.
• Proven ability to conduct complex financial investigations remotely and independently.
• Expertise in data analysis tools and techniques for financial investigations.
