Intermediate Accountant

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to support core accounting activities for a multi-entity organization in Calabasas, California. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing receivables and payables, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate brings solid hands-on accounting experience, communicates well with external partners, and is comfortable managing priorities with minimal supervision in a remote work setting.

Responsibilities include overseeing incoming and outgoing financial transactions across three operating entities, ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation. The accountant will investigate billing, remittance, and payment variances by working directly with customers to resolve account issues efficiently. They will communicate with vendors, clients, and independent contractors regarding payment status, account questions, and transaction details. The role also involves preparing and executing recurring payment cycles, including monthly check runs, while keeping vendor files and disbursement records current.

Recording customer deposits and monitoring vendor spending to support accurate cash and expense tracking is also part of the job. Additionally, the accountant will assist with payroll-related support tasks and provide general accounting administration as needed. They will maintain complete and organized accounting data in Quick Books Online, including transaction entry and record updates. Performing reconciliations for accounts and bank activity, posting journal entries, and supporting general ledger accuracy are also key responsibilities.

The accountant will partner with internal teams to help sustain efficient business operations and consistent financial reporting. They will contribute to accounting support for a growing organization that operates across multiple entities and service lines.
