Staff Accountant

Our client, a well established law firm located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position offers a hybrid schedule with both in office and remote work.

The Staff Accountant will support month end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate has at least three years of accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Complete bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with month end and year end close
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
• Review account activity and research discrepancies
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash applications as needed
• Maintain accurate general ledger records
• Assist with audit requests and documentation
• Partner with attorneys, finance leadership, and administrative teams
• Support additional accounting projects as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• Three + years of accounting experience
• Understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month end close
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work onsite in downtown Chicago as part of a hybrid schedule

$65,000 to $80,000 annually, based on experience
