Job Description Director, Client Operations & Bookkeeping Overview The Director, Client Operations & Bookkeeping will oversee a multi-client accounting portfolio, ensuring operational excellence and quality delivery.
Lead a team of nine professionals, managing organizational structure, performance, and succession planning.
Develop and implement firm-wide standards and workflows for financial processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Serve as the senior escalation point for client, quality, and staffing matters, ensuring client satisfaction.
Present review-ready financial packages to client executives and firm leadership, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Drive adoption of advanced accounting technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance operational efficiency.
Support quality of earnings and due diligence processes, preparing adjusted EBITDA analyses and managing auditor interactions.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, addressing process gaps and implementing standard templates and checklists.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Lead the accounting operations team, setting organizational structure and managing hiring, performance, and succession planning.
Oversee client governance, conducting business reviews and resolving escalations to ensure timely and accurate financial delivery.
Design and document firm-wide standards for financial processes, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
Review and approve monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with GAAP standards.
Manage client relationships, including scoping, pricing, onboarding, and identifying expansion opportunities.
Drive adoption of advanced accounting technologies, enhancing reporting automation and financial modeling capabilities.
Support audit preparation and due diligence processes, managing request lists and responding to auditor queries.
Monitor portfolio financial performance, addressing margin erosion and partnering on pricing and staffing decisions.
Director, Client Operations & Bookkeeping
Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 4+ years in leadership roles.
Proficiency in AP, AR, accruals, and period-end close processes.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software like Net Suite, Quick Books, and Xero.
Experience in multi-client or outsourced accounting environments.
Strong communication skills for translating accounting findings into actionable guidance.
Demonstrated ability to manage engagement budgets and client escalations effectively.
Familiarity with audit preparation and quality of earnings processes.
