Remote Finance & Accounting Specialist
GOAT Tutors is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our team on a remote basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, and general finance experience who can work independently and maintain accurate financial records.
Position DetailsPosition: Finance & Accounting Specialist
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Pay: $35--$45 per hour
Employment Type: Part-time or contract, with potential for ongoing work
Schedule: Flexible, with availability during U.S. business hours preferred
Maintain accurate financial and accounting records.
Record and categorize income, expenses, invoices, and payments.
Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts.
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Assist with budgeting, cash-flow tracking, and financial forecasting.
Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organized documentation and supporting financial records.
Assist with payroll-related accounting and expense tracking.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
Provide financial information and reports to management as requested.
Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with Quick Books Online or similar accounting software.
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organization.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification.
Experience working with small businesses, education companies, or service-based organizations.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
$35--$45 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
