CFO Advisory, Accounting Advisory Manager

Overview In this role you will serve as a trusted advisor to corporate accounting and finance teams, guiding complex accounting challenges, improving financial reporting, and navigating regulatory requirements. You will manage multiple client engagements, lead project teams, and deliver solutions across technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial transformation, and transaction-related initiatives. The position sits within a national CFO Advisory practice with industry-focused teams, offering flexible hybrid or remote work with travel as needed.

You will shape client service, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with senior leadership to expand engagement scope.

Responsibilities Lead multiple client engagements and act as a trusted project advisor;
Support and optimize financial close processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timelines;
Assist with accounting transformation initiatives (cash-to-accrual, opening balance sheet, purchase accounting);
Guide audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors;
Lead technical accounting projects covering ASC 480, 606, 718, 805, 815, 842;
Advise on IPO, SPAC, and SEC reporting matters (disclosures and compliance);
Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, memos, reconciliations, audit support, and SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K);
Mentor and develop team members and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture;
Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities to enhance client service and broaden engagement scope.

Key requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
Active CPA license highly preferred; 5+ years in public accounting, advisory, or industry accounting;
Experience supporting SEC registrants, public companies, or PE-backed organizations;
Strong technical accounting knowledge and research skills;
Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, or SEC reporting;
Proven project management and ability to lead engagements from planning to completion;
Ability to manage multiple client relationships and work independently and in teams;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with finance leaders and stakeholders;
Willingness to travel 25-40%.
