Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Accounts Payable is responsible for managing the Expenditure Accounting function and team, and oversees the completion of daily accounts payable processing, Fixed Asset processing, travel coordination, payroll processing, and ensures that all daily transactions are completed timely and accurately. Additionally, this role is responsible for the review and approval of a variety of complex financial transitions, ensuring conformance with GAAP and will act in the capacity of the Comptroller during their absence, as needed.
Supervision:
This position supervises a team of four (4) direct reports.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervisory
- Actively participating in the interviewing and hiring processes and ensuring successful functional onboarding of new employees
- Planning, assigning, coordinating and overseeing daily work of direct reports in alignment with strategic, operational, and tactical priorities of the organization
- Conducts regular one-on-one meetings providing constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, coaching and mentoring
- Setting reasonable stretch performance goals and conducting mid-year and annual performance appraisals
- Recognizing and rewarding performance excellence, culture championship, and continuous improvement efforts
- Communicating and enforcing agency policies and programs
- Applying corrective action, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely fashion, involving and collaborating with leadership and Human Resources as appropriate
- Accounts Payable Operational
- Reviews and approves transactions to Arizona’s Procurement Portal and the statewide financial management system (AZ360), which includes
- Invoice payment processing
- Fixed asset (inventory) management
- Surplus management
- State agency use tax processing/approval
- Revolving Fund account management
- Petty cash processing and reconciliation
- Payroll updates and reporting
- Travel policy updates and reconciliation management
- Administers expenditure accounting function in collaboration with other teams including but not limited to, the Budget team, Human Resources, Information Technology and Procurement to include
- Posting transactions to APP and AZ360 on behalf of the team, as needed
- Assisting with the fiscal year-end procedures, completes/reviews required closing packages and closeouts
- Assisting with financial audit document requests
