Remote Financial Accountant

Our client is seeking a proficient and adaptable Remote Financial Accountant to join their team, operating entirely from a remote location within South Africa . This role is vital for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of the company's financial reporting processes. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing general ledger functions, and supporting financial analysis, all within a virtual work environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong grasp of accounting principles, excellent communication skills for remote collaboration, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS .
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and accurate.
• Process and record financial transactions, including journal entries and accruals.
• Assist with financial analysis, including variance reporting and trend analysis.
• Support the external audit process by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting roles.
• Thorough understanding and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) .
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to facilitate remote collaboration.
