- Administer the organizational credit card program to ensure policy compliance and proper documentation.
- Provide backup support for billing and operational accounting workflows as needed.
- Maintain full oversight of the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, reconciliations, and required documentation.
- Support internal and external audit requests, reinforce internal financial controls, and participate in the continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Serve as an approachable finance liaison, offering clear guidance on credit card compliance, expense coding, and subledger procedures with patience and service-oriented diplomacy.
- Perform other accounting and finance tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in general ledger management, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, and close procedures.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and modern general ledger/ERP software/accounting systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills with ability to meet firm deadlines, clear written and verbal communication, and strict commitment to professional confidentiality and ethics.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, accessible guidance for non-finance stakeholders across parishes, schools, and diocesan departments.
- Professional demeanor reflective of the values and mission of the Diocese of Raleigh.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior accounting experience within a non-profit, religious, or mission-driven organization.
- Hands-on experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar non-profit accounting platforms.
- Proven ability to identify operational bottlenecks and strengthen internal accounting procedures.
Location: Hybrid Remote - Primary work performed from home office, with 1 scheduled day per week on-site in Raleigh for team collaboration and operational meetings.
