Staff Accountant

MentorcliQ is looking for a Staff Accountant to execute our accounting policies and processes to ensure we can meet our financial goals. This individual will work closely with our Senior. Staff Accountant and CFO to ensure that our books are kept up to date and accurate for quick decision-making and reporting. The Staff Accountant must be detail-oriented yet efficient and have an understanding of GAAP.

This role will require flexibility and the capability to learn new processes as business needs evolve.

• Manage accounts receivable and maintain customer records
• Enter sales orders, billing schedules, customer contacts, and invoicing requirements into Net Suite
• Handle customer setup, invoice generation and submission, problem solving around invoice generation, and escalating vendor issues to cross-functional leaders
• Drive collections activities, including follow-up messages and escalations to cross-functional leaders
• Manage sales tax calculation and filing to ensure coding accuracy and timely, accurate returns
• Categorize daily banking transactions including customer payments
• Support commission calculations, capitalization, and accounting entries
• Assist with monthly close processes such as preparing and/or reconciling journal entries for revenue recognition, and sales tax payable, and other entries
• Cross-train on payables processes to provide coverage for team members on leave/vacation
• Work with MentorcliQ’s Finance Team to ensure accurate financial statements
• Contribute to efforts to optimize current accounting systems and procedures
• Support annual audit preparations and tax requests
• Assist with maintaining internal controls, establishing and maintaining accurate record-keeping
• Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal Staff Accountant will bring excellent analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment. In addition, you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of remote office work experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred
• Knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory, principles, and practices to include knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with multi-currency financial reporting and consolidation preferred
• Knowledge of ASC 606 standards, including revenue recognition and commissions accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hands-on experience with Net Suite accounting software and Salesforce CRM
• Experience working with Mac OS X in a professional setting preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Compensation: $55K-$60K
