Under the general direction of the Legal Administration Support Branch Chief, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) independently manages complex, time‑sensitive, and high‑impact assignments within the Legal Affairs Division (LAD). The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in relocation compliance, legal research, and administrative coordination; provides actionable data analysis; and performs notary and related legal administrative functions. The incumbent exercises a high degree of initiative, judgment, and professionalism while managing critical assignments that support the Division’s legal and compliance functions.
Note:
Effective July 1, 2025, a 3 % salary reduction is in place under the Personal Leave Program (PLP), with 5 hours of Personal Leave Credit earned monthly in exchange. This program is subject to change based on union agreements and state budget policy. Under California Government Code Section 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework and may be eligible for full‑time remote work in some circumstances and/or time‑periods, at the sole discretion of the Department.
