Benesch is proud to announce the opening for an Office Administrator in our Columbus office. This position is hybrid and offers work-from-home flexibility.
Position SummaryDo you thrive supporting stakeholders and staff to help each succeed and be the best they can be? Do you have experience managing a law firm? This position oversees the administration of one of Benesch's satellite offices and supports 75+ personnel.
The Office Administrator is responsible for the management and operating results for all assigned support functions within the office location, managing overall office support, staff requirements, client services, and the internal operating environment. This role works with Cleveland office management to ensure consistency in Firm guidelines, policies and regulations, and assists in onboarding for support staff and legal hires with the Cleveland office HR and Professional Development teams as applicable.
Functions
- Staffs the Columbus location and assigns duties to optimize the efficient and effective support of timekeeper/client needs.
- Maintains and promotes an efficient, productive, and harmonious work environment through a hands-on approach with all personnel.
- Provides for the training needs of all personnel and cross-trains support staff as needed.
- Coordinates the scheduling of all supporting staff in the assigned location in accordance with Firm needs.
- Oversees the operations of legal assistants and reception as applicable.
- Maintains a strong understanding of Firm software systems.
- Prepares and provides input for the annual office operations budget for the assigned location and submits for approval by the Director of Practice Support.
- Plans and implements office events including holiday parties, luncheons, and summer events.
- Analyzes and reviews financial operations of the assigned location, ensuring costs are managed within the budget plan.
- Works with the Firm's Director of Practice Support on staff matters, including employment, training, evaluating, disciplining, and discharging staff as applicable.
- Monitors and manages performance standards, provides timely feedback, escalates concerns, and coaches to address skill or performance gaps.
- Recommends compensation and staff bonuses to the Director of Practice Support based on merit within budget guidelines.
- Maintains personnel availability and advises others of planned or unplanned absences.
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred for the Office Administrator position. A minimum of five years of experience as an office administrator, preferably in a law firm, is required. Strong understanding of human resources functions, recruiting, staff development, and financial operations is required. Experience creating and managing a budget process, excellent management skills, and effective communication are essential.…
