Role Description
This is a part-time internship as a Jr Finance Executive at Grumpy Beard Media. You won't be doing mindless data entry; you'll be ensuring the agency's financial health is audit-ready every single week. You will sit in the back office, working directly with the Founder to keep the books clean, the vendors organised, and the compliance tight. You'll be judged on accuracy, speed, and order .
If you hate messy ledgers, spot a missing GST number from a mile away, and love clean dashboards, you'll fit right in. This is not a role for 'rough estimates.'
What You'll Do
Own the Books on Zoho Books: Manage end-to-end bookkeeping, ensuring every transaction is recorded with 100% accuracy.
GST & Compliance Hygiene: Ensure all vendor bills are compliant with GST regulations (checking GSTIN validity, HSN codes, and tax rates).
Vendor Management: Handle vendor registration, verify KYC details, and enter bills and expenses promptly.
Decision-Support Reporting: Prepare a concise, error-free weekly report on payables, receivables, and cash flow to help the Founder make quick business decisions.
Tax Filing Prep: Organise monthly bills, reports, and vouchers so the tax filing process is seamless for our external CA.
Expense Tracking: Categorise expenses correctly and ensure no receipt goes missing.
Who we are looking for
Eligibility: Final Year Students, Commerce graduates (B.Com/BBA), or CA Intermediate/Dropouts looking for practical exposure.
Zoho Native (Mandatory): You must have hands-on experience with Zoho Books . If you are still learning it, this role is not for you.
Excel / Google Sheets Expert: You don't just type numbers; you structure them. You can turn a messy list of expenses into a clean, categorized table in minutes.
You are likely a student or early-career pro who understands the basics of Financial Statements and GST compliance .
Detail Obsessed: You spot a typo in an invoice instantly. You double-check numbers before hitting send.
Trustworthy: You will have access to sensitive financial data. Integrity is non-negotiable.
Culture (non-negotiable): We live our standards every workday, ownership, high craft, clear talk with follow-through. If you need someone to chase you to finish a report, this won't be a fit.
Growth & Continutity
This is a part-time engagement ( 50 hours/month ), but we are looking for consistency.
Direct Access: You will work directly with the Founder.
Long-Term Potential: For the right person who brings order to the chaos, this can evolve into a long-term role as the agency scales.
Logistics
Work mode: Primarily remote (work-from-home).
Location preference:
Bengaluru candidates are highly preferred for occasional in-person syncs/hand-overs.
Duration: Ongoing (Part-time).
Stipend
Upto ₹5,000 per month.
Based on a workload cap of 50 hours per month.
