THE POSITION
The Department of Labor & Industry is searching for Clerical Assistant 2s to join their team! This position in Unemployment Compensation (UC) Operations and involves a wide variety of clerical support functions. Duties involve the responsibility for different aspects of the work process and may involve providing training and guidance to other employees. The individual works with independence within the standard operating procedures;
however, detailed supervisory guidance and review is received for new or unusual situations and changes in operating procedures and policies.

DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Clerical Assistant 2, you will:
- Use of personal computer (data entry), copier, fax machine, printer, scanner, and calculator.
- Scan and associate documents in Ben Mod system
- Open, sort and distribute incoming mail
- Return mail to claimants and employers
- Add case notes to claims
- Communicate via telephone, email and teams
- File and purge
- Complete daily mail/fax report as well as daily production reports
- Navigate through the Ben Mod system
- Attend meetings and complete trainings via teams

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30 minute lunch.
- Works hours may vary based on operational needs.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) after successful completion of the required probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check;
a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
