Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in advancing excellence in education and organizational compliance? The Office of the Provost is seeking an Administrative Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this multifaceted position, you'll coordinate accreditation, compliance, and assessment activities, manage databases, and facilitate stakeholder collaboration. You'll also support compliance reporting efforts, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and maintaining documentation integrity.

Additionally, you'll provide essential support in faculty services, managing documentation, facilitating communication, and ensuring the accuracy of pertinent websites. If you have a passion for higher education and a drive for organizational excellence, we want to hear from you.

The Academic Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in supporting UAF’s institutional integrity and student success by ensuring alignment with federal, state, and accreditor requirements. As part of the Accreditation & Assessment Office within the Provost’s Division, this position administers several university‑wide compliance programs, including distance education authorization, professional licensure disclosures, RSI implementation, textbook cost transparency, and course evaluation coordination. The role combines policy interpretation, complex data management, and operational leadership, working closely with academic units, administrative offices, and external regulatory partners to maintain consistent institutional practices and meet time‑sensitive reporting expectations.

This position offers the opportunity to shape compliance processes that have significant impact across the university.

To thrive in this role the ideal applicant will excel if they are highly self‑motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently while also serving as a collaborative partner across academic and administrative units. This position requires someone who can interpret complex regulations, manage multiple concurrent deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll regularly translate regulatory requirements into clear guidance for faculty, staff, and leadership.

The ideal candidate brings experience in compliance, accreditation, or policy administration; demonstrates sound judgment; and enjoys creating efficient, well‑organized systems. A team‑oriented mindset—paired with the confidence to lead processes, train others, and drive institutional improvements—will be key to success.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and four years progressively responsible experience relevant to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
