Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pay Basis:
Bi-weekly.
Annual salary range: $50,000 - $53,448. Final offer based on experience, qualifications, and fit.
Job SummaryReviews and processes Public Water System (PWS) information, applications, documentation, and data submitted to TCEQ regarding Ground Water, Revised Total Coliform, Chemical, Surface Water and Public Notice rules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs routine reviews of information, applications, documentation, and data related to PWSs and laboratories submitted to TCEQ; researches information and determines compliance with 30 TAC Chapter 290.
- Initiates and responds to communications and inquiries; provides assistance and technical information about natural resource and environmental rules and regulations to customers.
- Identifies systems with violations and determines/initiates appropriate follow‑up.
- Inputs information into institutional databases; documents research and compliance determinations; follows records‑management protocol.
- Prepares correspondence, reports, standard operating procedures, and other documents; tracks and reports on status of assignments; provides guidance to junior staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., natural science, engineering, environmental studies) from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of related experience; or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with databases and reviewing technical documents.
- Paralegal experience.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PCs.
- Database entry proficiency; ability to learn TCEQ’s databases (SDWIS, CCEDS, Central Registry) and 30 TAC Chapter 290 rules; follows SOPs and file‑management requirements.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, customer service, and ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical individuals.
- Ability to mentor newer staff and integrate complex concepts, procedures, and processes.
- Verbal and written communication skills with clients, customers, and coworkers.
- Ability to prepare routine correspondence, reports, documents, policies, and case narratives; edit and proofread with prolonged attention to detail.
- Ability to perceive speech and interact with coworkers on a routine or frequent basis; may use amplifying equipment/hearing aids if needed.
- Ability to work independent with moderate supervision and effectively in home/remote offices; collaborate in team environment.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
Standard office environment. Job activities include sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying batches of paper up to 10 lbs.
