The salary range for this position is $52,593.71 to $86,166.03 for Schedule A, and $52,593.71 to $81,857.73 for Schedule
B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule
A. Newly hired individuals, and judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule

The Essex Vicinage seeks a creative and detail-oriented administrative professional to join the Interpreting Unit within the Operations Division. The ideal candidate will have outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with strong initiative, adaptability, and professionalism. As part of the busiest interpreting unit in the NJ Courts, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to help ensure high-quality, equitable service for all court users.

The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver advanced administrative support by ordering services and supplies, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing office processes. Manage and update calendars, track due dates and follow-ups, compile statistical reports, and maintain division-specific forms and directories. Leverage technology solutions to improve office efficiency.
- Act as a liaison by responding to inquiries from judges, law clerks, court administrators, interpreters, vendors, and both internal and external stakeholders via phone, email, Teams, and in person. Provide timely, professional, and knowledgeable customer service.
- Review interpreting requests, confirm interpreter availability, and coordinate assignments with staff, freelance, and agency interpreters. Oversee workflow between the unit and judges’ chambers.
- Negotiate with vendors, review bids for cost savings, and recommend operational improvements. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure vendor compliance by following up on required documentation.
- Analyze requisitions, vouchers, invoices, and financial transactions. Assemble necessary materials, collect and manage case statistics or financial data, and generate status reports. Establish and maintain tracking systems, including Excel and OSMOSIS.
- Support and advise team members on work in progress to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of partnership committees and training events within the Vicinage.
