empowermefirst.college is a non‑profit aiming to make upper secondary school education accessible to millions of vulnerable youths and adults in emerging and developing countries regardless of background, gender or lifestyle. We offer a free online learning platform to overcome gaps created by inequality. Students learn at their own pace, using their mobile phones everywhere, at any time.
Our vision is to transform our students into change leaders who build today's and tomorrow's world.
Since our creation in 2021, we have piloted our program providing English, ICT, Maths and Science courses to test the courses and research the feasibility in two very different countries.
We are looking for volunteers for the following position:
HR & Administrative AssistantHR & Administrative assistants are (depending on their skills, educational backgrounds and areas of activity) responsible for administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, verifying and analysing data, accounting, smooth running of processes and projects, HR and student, volunteer and staff acquisition, selection, interviews, onboarding, retention and support, following the process and questionnaires provided by empowermefirst.college.
General- Excellent communication skills in their native language and English.
- Openness to accept and use feedback and advice given by leadership. You will work closely with the country and regional coordinators and the leadership of empowermefirst.college.
- Read, follow and portray vision, mission, values, policies, other documents, and the laws of the countries in which they are active (and Swiss law), successful completion of induction process.
- Maintain a high level of integrity, positive image and reputation of empowermefirst.college.
- Be passionate about the cause of empowermefirst.college, creative, and respectful when approaching sponsors.
- Diligent, well‑organized working methods.

- Data entry of receipts, student, volunteers, and staff data
- Organizing files, optimizing processes, ensuring deadlines are kept, preparing certificates and semester grades

Posting, selecting, and interviewing new volunteers - Support students, volunteers and staff with any concerns and check their activities on the LMS to report to country and regional coordinators
- Support country, regional coordinators and empowermefirst.college leadership in their tasks such as research, correspondence, planning of meetings, creating documents and presentations
- Write a monthly report based on activities, minutes
- Help find the best means of marketing empowermefirst.college to the right group of students.
- Ensure inclusivity:
Try to reach students from any background, faith, gender. - Ensure equity:
Reach out to the most vulnerable, especially girls, young mothers, people with disabilities, stigmas, etc. - Plan and organize events.
- Research and plan viable sponsor ships
- Research, plan and prepare viable partnerships, example companies for internships
- Send a monthly progress report to country coordinators.
- All volunteers and staff must abide by all empowermefirst.college policies and regulations, portray the vision, mission and values when representing it and keep its integrity and reputation intact, and to abide by the anti‑corruption policy of empowermefirst.college in regards to bribery, gifts and other forms of giving and when employing consultants or freelancers. No administrative assistant shall solicit or promise any financial help to anyone volunteering for or partnering with the college.
- The administrative assistants are required to make sure all members and students comply with empowermefirst.college’s values, code of conduct, policies and data protection law of their country.
