Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Intake Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient intake processes, verifying insurance information, and ensuring accurate documentation within our electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in medical administrative support, and familiarity with various medical billing and coding procedures. The Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient service while maintaining compliance with PHIPA regulations and healthcare standards.
Responsibilities- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing our system platform Jane
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with PHIPA
- Support administrative functions including filing, faxing, and managing electronic or paper-based medical records
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations
- Assist with insurance claims processing and follow-up on outstanding payments or authorizations
- Proficiency in Google Suites and typing skills including 10-key typing
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and office management tasks
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist diverse patient populations
- Prior clinic experience preferred but not necessary
- Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette for handling multi-line phone systems
- Knowledge of health information management practices and office management procedures
- Ability to maintain PHIPA compliance while managing sensitive patient information
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your administrative expertise directly impacts patient care quality. This position is an independent contractor position, and preferred hours are Monday to Friday 12pm-3pm, and one evening availability 4-7pm. Contractor will be able to work from home 4 days per week, and in-office one day per week.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
