Job Overview
The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) within the Colorado Department of Revenue is hiring an Administrative Assistant II for the Traffic Records Operations Team. This remote position is primarily performed via telework, with infrequent on‑site visits to the office at 2829 W Howard Place, Denver, CO 80204.
Responsibilities- Read and research digital images to facilitate data entry into the DRIVES system for record‑keeping.
- Add citations issued by law enforcement to enable online payments by customers.
- Add convictions from partnering agencies to the record in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Amend or correct entries to meet requests from partnering agencies.
- Answer and resolve customer issues escalated to the unit via email or phone calls.
- Locate and verify data on source documents.
- Recognize various document types in differing formats.
Residency requirement:
Only residents of the State of Colorado at the time of application are eligible.
Conditions of employment include maintaining a high standard of public trust, filing required Colorado Individual Income Tax returns, and successfully completing a background investigation and reference check. Certain positions may require scheduled background investigations.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience only: Two (2) years of relevant experience in general clerical work in a professional office setting, which typically includes:
- Exceptional customer service and interface with a variety of people.
- Data entry into programs or databases.
- Daily use of office equipment such as email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), printers, copiers, and fax machines.
- Typing professional emails, letters, reports, briefs, forms, and memoranda.
- Reviewing and comparing data for accuracy and completeness, gathering specified information and compiling routine reports.
- Education and experience: A combination of related education in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, Political Science, or a similar field and/or relevant experience in general clerical work equals two (2) years.
- Two or more years of experience in a complex, high‑volume general clerical support position.
- Career progression in a general clerical and/or customer service role.
- Experience working with sensitive, confidential information.
