The University of South Dakota invites applications for an Interlibrary Loan Librarian (Civil Service Librarian level) based at the University Libraries’ I.D. Weeks Library in Vermillion, South Dakota. This position will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the interlibrary loan department and managing and processing electronic course reserves. Duties also support the circulation desk in Library and the interlibrary loan operations of the Wegner Health Sciences Library.
Responsibilities- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the interlibrary loan department
- Manage and process electronic course reserves
- Support the circulation desk in Library
- Support interlibrary loan operations of the Wegner Health Sciences Library
- Experience with interlibrary loan processing
- Familiarity with copyright law as it applies to electronic course reserves in an academic library
- Comfort working with computers and office software/technologies
- Detail‑oriented, well organized, strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse colleagues, staff, faculty and students
- Flexible, willing to learn new tasks and technologies, able to work independently or in groups
The position will be located at the I.D. Weeks building on the Vermillion campus and will report to the Associate Dean for Access and Collection Services. A hybrid schedule with some remote work may be possible.
