Summary
Compiles payroll data to maintain and complete payroll records for multiple states by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities- Compile payroll data such as hours worked and benefit time from Kronos and other records.
- Verify timecard data for compliance with federal, state agencies and Company policy, and correct timekeeping and payroll software as necessary.
- Enter data into computer files, compute wages and deductions, and post to payroll records.
- Review computed wages and correct errors, ensuring payroll accuracy.
- Review bank data to complete direct deposits.
- Record data concerning employee transfers between departments.
- Track leave pay and non‑taxable wages.
- Track and reconcile various weekly deductions for employees on unpaid leave.
- Verify PTO usage in accordance with Company policies.
- Track overtime and provide a weekly report to management.
- Compile and respond to emails in a professional manner.
- Provide assistance by answering calls, sorting mail, filing, interacting with employees, and working on special projects.
- Require basic to intermediate Excel and Word skills.
- High school diploma or GED and two to three years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
- General knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act requirements, payroll tax standards, and basic accounting principles of debit and credit.
- Previous payroll experience is required.
This is a hybrid position. Employees will work onsite for the first 2‑4 months during the initial training period and occasionally for on‑demand training as needed. After training, employees may work from home if they have reliable internet and a quiet workspace, per WFH policy and guidelines. Once WFH is offered, employees are required to come into the office two times a week (eight days per month) on a rotating schedule with the payroll staff.
