The Dahill Group is excited to partner with a top-tier Texas E&P company to find a detail-oriented and dedicated Legal Support Specialist to join their esteemed legal team. In this pivotal role, you will support the legal department and serve as a vital link between the legal team and other company departments, while also undertaking various administrative duties. You will report directly to the VP of the Legal Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist the Legal Department in meeting critical daily and weekly deadlines, providing timely progress reports to the VP-Legal.
- Act as a liaison between the Legal Department and other departments, ensuring adherence to deadlines for time‑sensitive functions.
- Coordinate and attend internal and external meetings, effectively communicating with outside counsel, brokers, partners, and vendors.
- Organize and maintain the Legal Department's databases and files for all company departments.
- Draft, proofread, format, distribute, file, and save both physical and digital documents.
- Manage a Master Calendar for all upcoming deadlines, reporting timelines, and other critical matters for the Legal Department. Follow up with other departments and executives on deadline responsibilities.
- Coordinate with multiple departments for various tasks, such as processing invoices, drafting operations contracts, and handling land data.
- Maintain corporate records as required.
- Perform additional general tasks as directed by the VP-Legal.
- Detail-oriented, process-driven, and a committed team player dedicated to excellence.
- Strong communication skills across various mediums.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel, Word, Adobe, and Docu Sign.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in legal or administrative assistant roles with duties matching those outlined.
- Associate degree or Certification as a Paralegal is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the upstream or oil & gas industry is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to draft, review, and summarize contracts pertinent to the upstream and midstream sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates must reside in Texas or Louisiana.
- Position requires in‑office work in Longview, Texas for those within 40 miles, with a hybrid schedule of 2 work‑from‑home days and 3 in‑office days.
- For candidates outside of 40 miles of Longview, remote work from Houston, Austin, Dallas‑Fort Worth, or Shreveport LA is available, requiring 1 week per month in the Longview office.
Salary ranges from $65,000 to $70,000, with a target annual bonus of 5-7% and a holiday bonus equivalent to 1 week of compensation.
