The Position
The Department of Human Services is looking for a dedicated Fiscal Assistant to help manage billing and financial records. In this role, you will handle important tasks that support daily office operations. Your contributions will help ensure services are billed and tracked with care and precision.
Description of Work- Account Maintenance:
Update client information in billing and accounting systems to keep records accurate. - Billing Preparation:
Prepare and send bills to insurance providers, agencies, and responsible parties for services provided. - Payment Processing:
Receive payments, record receipts, and prepare daily deposits while safeguarding funds. - Financial Posting:
Post charges, payments, and adjustments to accounts and follow up on rejected or disputed payments. - Report Preparation:
Gather data and assist in creating financial reports for review and submission. - Eligibility Support:
Process requests for Medical Assistance eligibility and follow up with appropriate offices.
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
Opportunity to work from home part‑time up to 3 days per week; must report to the office 2 days per week. - Salary:
Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Within 3 months of graduating to meet educational requirements.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
