Bennett’s Village is a 501(c)3 that was founded in 2018 to build a multigenerational, all-abilities playspace at Pen Park in partnership with the city of Charlottesville. In 2025 we opened the first of five phases of the project–an accessible treehouse and path. Bennett’s Village is named after Bennett McClurken-Gibney, a little boy who lived with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and dreamed of a place in his hometown where he could play with his family and friends.
