Job Summary
PBS Utah, KUER 90.1 and Avanza 88.3 are seeking a 30‑hour per week Donor Services Assistant to join our team. This benefited position will serve as a primary point of contact for all station donors, viewers, and listeners.
The position is primarily in‑office, with occasional hybrid/remote work opportunities.
Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to station’s audience and members via phone calls, email, direct mail and in‑person communications.
- Work closely with station staff to answer inquiries about programming and troubleshoot reception and/or technical issues.
- Utilize new software, Excel, Word and Google Docs.
- Process, update member donations and records in the PBS Utah Donor Services office.
- Collaborate with the Utah Public Media development team to handle other responsibilities within the Donor Services department.
- Participate in staff in‑person events for the station as required.
- Be knowledgeable about all three stations’ programs and schedule.
- Maintain punctuality, attendance and assignment completion consistently.
- Follow all University of Utah charitable guidelines to ensure proper handling of donors, data integrity and PCI compliance.
- Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years of related experience.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks.
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software and/or database software.
- Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Word processing, data entry, and/or customer service experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Experience with Google Suite.
- Efficient typing skills and speed (45+ WPM).
- High level of professional courtesy and communication skills.
- Ability to use time and resources effectively and efficiently.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, cart up to 200 lbs.
- Demonstrated potential to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Spanish or other second language (preferred).
- Professional experience related to database management and customer service.
- Non‑profit experience.
