Background
Can’t Wait to Learn provides a quality evidence-based solution to close the education gap for millions of children affected by conflict. This self-paced digital education programme covering grade 1-3, offers children the opportunity to (continue to) learn to read, write and count, through educational games that are specifically created for and with these young children. Can’t Wait to Learn works together with Ministries of Education around the world to ensure that the learning objectives are in line with their national curricula, most recently for children in and outside of Ukraine.
As Project Officer you are responsible for ensuring quality organizational and administrative support to the CWtL Ukraine Response Team (80%) & the Global CWtL Team (20%).
Your Responsibilities
Providing project support
- Carry out a variety of subject-matter work within the project team to help coordinate, plan, prepare, and carry out tasks in line with the programme plans.
- Help the programme team to prepare a work plan, establish a budget and write periodic and other reports in line with organisational requirements.
- Support projects and sub-projects by compiling information for planning, monitoring and reporting purposes.
- Prepare subject matter for meetings, keep minutes if necessary and tracks arrangements to ensure that they are fulfilled.
- Edit documents and provide basic translation support, where possible.
Operational support
- Coordinate and support procurement and recruitment processes in a timely manner, in line with internal and donor requirements.
- Support financial administration of the programme.
- Advise on, assist with and carry out matters relating to setting up the project’s accounts and records for new projects.
- Maintain programme related filing and carry out administration & filing for grant management processes.
Maintaining contacts and providing administrative and organisational support to internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on matters concerning the work on the project.
- Handle some or all the communications to stakeholders relating to project progress.
- Follow up on logistical matters relating to trainings, meetings and visits of partners or donors.
- Participate in various internal and external meetings and consultations.
Improving services
- Identify opportunities to improve the standard of professionalism.
- Share learnings and experiences with the rest of the organisation.
Your Profile
- Previous work experience in a busy administrative / project type role.
- Understanding of and some previous experience of project-based working methods.
- Ability to maintain effective communication lines within a project.
- Flexibility to be able to multitask and remain effective in a busy & changeable environment.
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
- Natural problem solver with a keen eye for detail & accuracy.
- Enthusiastic by nature with a hands-on approach.
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Ukrainian, Romanian, or Russian is desirable.
Location
This role is based at our offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands (successful candidate needs to be eligible to work in the Netherlands).
Our Offer
- Salary range from €2, 793 – €3, 473 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week (the exact step determined by the years of your relevant working experience)
- 26 vacation days on full time basis, plus 3 additional fixed free days per annum (based on 40 hours work week)
