Job SummaryPerforms a variety of complex administrative tasks involving some discretion and requiring moderate amounts of independent judgment related to the oversight of the daily operations of a University administrative unit.
Essential Duties- Monitors and reviews operations of unit; ensures smooth workflow and professional quality of work product.
- Serves as an informational resource to staff, investigating and resolving problems related to area of expertise.
- Assists University staff, faculty, and students by answering inquiries and providing information.
- Oversees staff and assists in enforcement of policies and procedures, including establishing schedules and reviewing performance.
- Gathers and analyzes statistical information regarding department’s programs and activities; produces reports.
- Assists in financial and budgetary tasks—preparing and monitoring budgets, preparing fiscal reports, processing payments—and may maintain inventory of supplies.
Requires nine months of coursework or training beyond high school in Business Administration and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and expertise.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of unit’s operations, policies, and procedures.
- Supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of computer and office applications.
- Research skills.
Supports the orientation registration system and related processes; supports administrative and logistics questions connected to the Miami Family Fund; serves as a front‑facing team member providing customer service and support to students, families, and the broader university community.
