Position Description Summary/Purpose
This position assists with the daily operations of the Registrar's Office. The Registration Coordinator is responsible for setting up and managing the registration process each semester. The role requires confidentiality, a can‑do attitude, and an exceptional work ethic.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities- Identify registration dates in alignment with the university calendar
- Establish registration schedules within the student database
- Conduct daily course reconciliations
- Manage adding, swapping, dropping, and withdrawal of student courses and university withdrawals in accordance with Title IV regulations
- Process notifications for cancelled courses
- Oversee the prerequisite overrides process
- Prepare the annual prerequisite list
- Assist the Registrar and Assistant Registrar in preparation for audits
- Manage waitlist notifications and facilitate student registration for waitlisted classes
- Support student registration for the Hartford Consortium
- Collaborate with academic departments as needed
- Assist with graduation tasks
- Perform similar or related work as required, directed, or as situation permits
- Continue professional development and training; keep current with trends
- Assist other department staff as needed to promote a team effort
- Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the university community are treated with respect and dignity
- Requires cognitive ability to prioritize duties and flexibility to manage different responsibilities at once
- Need for adaptability, professionalism and confidence in decision‑making
- Organizational skills are essential
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and under tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and related documents
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft Suite and student databases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in higher education, Title IV, or related field preferred
