Job Overview
Full‑time, hourly. Non‑exempt. Compensation $20–$35 per hour.
Location:
Charleston, WV (must reside within 100‑mile radius). Remote work possible from home office.
Schedule:
Full‑time; report to ORC's Scott Depot, WV office as requested.
Travel:
Approximately 50% locally and throughout West Virginia.

- Conduct real estate title searches using online databases and in‑person visits to county courthouses
- Retrieve and review documents such as deeds, mortgages, contracts, easements, tax cards, and plats
- Compile accurate findings into client‑provided Title Reports, ensuring completeness and reliability
- Verify and document all relevant instruments required to complete thorough and compliant title searches
- Works efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines
- Prioritizes and balances multiple tasks

- Analytical, detail‑oriented, eager to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a fast‑paced administrative setting
- Provides strong customer service experience
- Can adapt to new systems and software environments
- At least one year of experience pulling title and title history
- Experience analyzing titles and title reports
- Verifying property ownership, mortgages, liens, and judgments against properties; determining how restrictions affect titles and property use
- Identifying key parcel information and communicating effectively to property owners
- Proficient reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, easements; searching parcel data; producing chain of title
- Ability to read and understand real estate terminology
- Determine types of title evidence required to obtain property descriptions and parties involved
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel and Word);
Dropbox or equivalent - Has iOS or Android smartphone to access ORC systems
- Valid driver’s license
Regularly required to communicate in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers due to high amounts of computer usage. Expected to spend long periods in front of a computer screen. Occasional movement within office to access files and equipment. Occasional travel to government buildings involving driving time.
