Payroll Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage various payroll-related tasks. The individual will be responsible for entering leave decisions into Oracle, coding team members' timecards accurately with appropriate leave and disability pay codes, and making historical corrections. Proficiency in Excel is essential for managing multiple payroll spreadsheets. Additionally, this role includes serving as a backup for the billing administrator, which involves sending insurance invoices to team members on leave, creating invoices, and guiding team members on payment processes through our billing platform, Cybersource.
Responsibilities
+ Enter leave codes accurately and manage timecards for employees on leave.
+ Process up to 16-150 leave requests daily and handle bi-weekly payroll for approximately 800 timecards.
+ Edit and correct timecards, including manual entry of edits such as backing out PTO hours for employees on leave.
+ Serve as a backup for the billing administrator by sending insurance invoices and guiding payment processes.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in payroll and timekeeping processes.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
+
Experience with benefits payments for employees on leave.
+ Experience in coding and making manual adjustments on timecards.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with UKG and Oracle.
+
Experience with absence management, payroll processing, timekeeping, and Kronos.
Work Environment
This position is onsite with potential for a hybrid schedule (1 day work from home) after several months. The department is expanding, offering potential opportunities for conversion to a full-time position. To be considered for a permanent position, candidates must demonstrate reliability, effective communication skills, and the ability to perform job duties with minimal errors. The role requires being onsite five days a week and contributing positively to the team environment.
Currently, the department is understaffed, providing room for growth and permanence.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
