Job Description

This temporary role provides specialized customer service to adult students, facilitating the procurement of required books and supplies, ensuring proper billing to the SUNY Reconnect initiative, and communicating policy details, timelines, and follow‑up with students.

Examples of

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as primary point of contact for adult students, offering tailored support.
  • Assist students in identifying and ordering required materials.
  • Reconcile invoices against internal records to ensure accurate billing for the Reconnect initiative.
  • Communicate clearly with students regarding allowable charges, specific timelines for ordering, purchasing, and picking up materials.
  • Proactively contact students to ensure they have required materials in time for classes.
  • Adhere to the College Code of Conduct and maintain a collaborative, inclusive environment.
  • Maintain used technology and pursue professional growth, including training in diversity, equity and inclusion.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a fast‑pace service environment.
  • Strong attention to detail for billing processes and financial documentation.
  • Ability to explain complex funding, policies, and procedures to students.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
  • Preferred: experience in retail, bookstore or educational environment.
  • Preferred: bilingual (Spanish or other language).
